Hydrogeological monitoring of EWS drilling and dimensioning of EWS field
The project
Location: Zurich Nor high-rise building, Zurich-Seebach
Client: Pension fund
Phases: Planning, hydrogeological monitoring of EWS borehole and dimensioning of EWS field
Duration: 2024
Ecosens AG was able to carry out the hydrogeological investigations for the site development, including the dimensioning of the geothermal probe field in accordance with the current SIA 384/6 standard. For an optimized dimensioning of the geothermal heating system with heating and cooling, a geothermal probe drilling including a thermal response test was carried out. The aim of these investigations is to take into account the local geology and its properties for the optimized dimensioning of the heating system. The local underground temperature, the different thermal conductivities of the rock layers and groundwater-bearing layers have a major influence on the final number of meters of borehole required for the geothermal probe field.
Planning and coordination work with planners and authorities, hydrogeological consulting
Planning and monitoring the execution of the EWS drilling and the thermal response test (TRT), recording the geological profile
Calculation-based thermal dimensioning of the EWS field according to SIA 384/6, determination of the position and number of geothermal probes in the entire construction area
Compilation and documentation of the results including a user agreement for the client
Challenges
Individual and site-specific advice tailored to the needs of our customers, taking into account the hydrogeological conditions underground
With limited space and the specifications of the heating planning, enable optimal seasonal energy extraction and energy input in the underground and optimize the required drilling meters.
