Fermentation plants are subject to an EIA. As part of a final preliminary investigation, we assessed the revised design plan with the planned changes to the plant in terms of its environmental compatibility. The EIA environmental impact report forms the basis for the review by the cantonal authorities.
We worked closely with the project management and the specialist planners to assess which environmental measures were required and which needed to be taken into account in further planning. The most important environmental aspects were exhaust emissions (climate-impacting gases, ammonia and odor), transport emissions, drainage and replacement measures for affected protected habitats.
