Expansion of 3rd incineration line, KVA Hagenholz Zurich

The City of Zurich plans to increase the incineration capacity of the Hagenholz waste incineration plant from 230,000 tons per year to 345,000 tons per year. This will be realized with a third incineration line (2K5) on the existing site. On the one hand, the increase in incineration capacity will ensure the safe disposal of municipal waste and provide sufficient capacity for the recycling of market waste in the Canton of Zurich. On the other hand, this project contributes to the energy goals of the city of Zurich (2000 watt society) in connection with the Zurich North - Zurich West connection line and the expansion of the district heating area.
