We are currently setting up a new department for environmental modeling. The aim is to specifically expand our range of services in the field of environmental planning and to offer comprehensive services in the area of modeling air pollutant and noise emissions. The department is being developed in close cooperation with an experienced external partner in order to ensure the highest professional standards right from the start.
The new department focuses on two central topics:
Dispersion modeling for air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Modeling of industrial and commercial noise to check compliance with planning values, for example when planning new or expanding existing systems.
In the future, these models will be used in environmental planning projects - for example in feasibility studies or environmental impact reports, to assess compliance with legal guideline values or to derive suitable mitigation measures.
An initial project has already been successfully completed: As part of a feasibility study, it was checked whether the noise emissions from a planned data center would comply with the planning values for the nearby residential areas. The cooling systems on the roof were a significant source of noise. Three different layout variants were analyzed, each with a different number of coolers and two noise protection measures.
With the new department, we are creating the basis for an expanded and future-oriented range of services in the field of environmentally relevant immission modeling. Our aim is to provide our clients with sound and practical support in all aspects of environmental planning - from feasibility studies to concrete recommendations for measures.
