Accidents or even disasters during production, storage and especially
during transport of hazardous substances have contributed to enhancing
public awareness of the risks associated with a highly technical market.
Since enforcement of the Ordinance on Disaster Prevention, many companies
have been committed to deal with the risks emanating from their activities.
The restructuring process of the Swiss market has led to extensive changes in
the nature of many environmental risks. Other risks have taken the place of the "classical
chemical risks". Large groups of affiliated companies have closed down their
production centres in Switzerland and enlarged their portfolios abroad. Certain
risks have thus disappeared, however, new ones have taken their place or existing
ones have increased, such as for example transport risks, sabotage, and occupational
safety and health.
We define the risks posed by a company in the environmental and occupational
safety and health fields, we collect basic data, identify deficiencies and assess
the need for action. Therefore, we do not only supply the management of companies
with a survey of their risk liability, but also with a tool for investment planning.
We also share our industrial consulting experience with public authorities in
their implementation tasks in the field of prevention of hazardous events: we
assist various cantons with the implementation of the Ordinance on Disaster Prevention,
insofar as we analyse and assess for instance the risks of challenging production
processes.
